Attenuators

We can produce a number of attenuators to suit your signal level reduction needs, for any number of channels.

Ranging from single channel fixed reduction, to 8, 16 or more channels each with switched values, even ganged. The possibilities are limited only to your desires.

Typically, these attenuators are signal voltage reducers having a nominal 20kΩ input impedance and up to 10 switched values. Technically the form of the attenuator is of the ‘unbalanced L-type’.

Specialised balanced or unbalanced attenuators in voltage or decibel notation can be produced having equal input and output impedances (‘T’ or ‘Pi’ section style).

Although this equipment is fitted with BNC sockets for input and output, the connectors can be to match your system or requirements.

As an example: 2-channel switched attenuator, BNC inputs and outputs. Each channel has independent reduction to either 50% or 25% of the input level.

Here is another example; It is a single channel unbalanced attenuator calibrated for 50O input, a monitor point is provided to enable exactly 1V to be set. When the correct level is set the reduced voltages as selected via the switch are output to a high impedance load.

This item was developed for checking high-gain amplifiers used for eeg recording.
